BIOCERAMIC TECHNOLOGY

Ceramic materials, a mixture of volcanic rock and metal oxides, have been used for a number of years in various fields, mainly in heat reflection. Actually, the outer casing of the Space Shuttle is built with a ceramic material to reflect solar radiation. BIOCERAMIC comprises about 20 types of ceramic mixed with mineral oxides, such as silica oxide and aluminium oxide.

What are the benefits of BIOCERAMIC? Research on the areas of use and the benefits of BIOCERAMIC are ongoing: a major interest focuses on the interaction of BIOCERAMIC with far infrared radiation (FIR = Far Infrared Radiation). BIOCERAMIC can reflect far infrared as well as thermal radiation.

What is far infrared?  Far infrared (FIR) is an infrared zone of the electromagnetic spectrum having a lower frequency than that of visible light and other infrared bands. Visible light is a range of radiation with wavelengths between 400 nm and 700 nm, which means that the photons of the far infrared have less energy than those of visible light.

How do bioceramics interact with the far infrared radiation? The BIOCERAMIC fabric has the property to reflect a significant amount of infrared radiation with a wavelength in the electromagnetic spectrum of the far infrared. It is also able to exploit the heat emitted by the body by reflecting all the advantages thereof in the body.

What are the benefits of infrared radiation? The infrared wavelengths have many beneficial and therapeutic properties for living organisms. When the body is irradiated with electromagnetic waves of different wavelengths, these are mostly reflected while those of far infrared are absorbed. These far infrared rays are also called "biogenic", namely life generators. They penetrate our vital system, generate warming bringing benefits in terms of significant tissue regeneration: with a consequent reduction of chronic pain symptoms usually caused by various forms of arthritis.

Such radiation has the ability to penetrate the skin and enter the subcutaneous tissues where it transmits its energy with a "thermal effect" resulting in blood vessel dilation. Creating a significant improvement in blood circulation and a beneficial effect on the immune system activity and the elimination of metabolic wastes and toxins.

How is BIOCERAMIC fabric made? As mentioned earlier, BIOCERAMIC consists of a mixture of more than 20 kinds of ceramic oxides and minerals: these are attached to polyester fibers which are then printed in lines on the fabric of the mattress. Thanks to the presence of the BIOCERAMIC fabric you benefit from high thermal insulation for keeping your body at a constant temperature.
